Sunchasers is the latest project from Seattle-based trombonist and composer Naomi Siegel. Siegel’s music employs deep grooves, folk-like melodies and collective, soulful improvisation. Written while traveling in Senegal, Gambia and Costa Rica over the past several years, her compositions are inspired by a diversity of influences while featuring her own distinct compositional voice. Sunchasers features Geoff Harper on bass, Steven Bell on vibraphone and Thione Diop on percussion.

With the reflexes of a mongoose and the swagger of a leftist John Wayne, Crystal Beth* (aka: Beth Fleenor) spins her own brand of posicore purge-pop-punk-hop: a sweaty trance psychedelic ritual. Expect intense currents of bethnic chanting, propelled by the ferocious beating of the Boom Boom…
*Crystal Beth is a psychoactive stimulant that increases alertness, concentration, and energy, and in high doses, can induce euphoria, enhance self-esteem, and increase libido.

Pigpen was the beginning of a long term musical partnership between Wayne Horvitz and alto saxophonist Briggan Krauss. Special projects included collaborations with Soundgarden drummer Matt Cameron, Santana drummer Michael Shrieve, The Billy Tipton Saxophone Quartet, Bill Frisell, and Seattle icon Skerik. Pigpen has recorded 3 CDs for the Tim Kerr Label, Halfrack (1993), Miss Ann (1994) and Daylight (1997).
“If I had to guess what this was, without looking at the press kit, I would probably say something like, four guys locked into a studio with all this gear, lots of food, LSD, some pot, and a madman with something new to prove. This one’s a keeper!” – Jeff Daniel, Pandemonium
